OUR STORY

Books Worth Sharing was created to help parents and educators inspire a love of reading in their children, and to protect them from the decline in values found in much of today’s literature. Modern books are often filled with slang, blurred moral lines, and themes that conflict with modesty and family life. Standards have dropped; many titles are written to compete with screens and video games rather than to enrich language or thought.

Our focus is on clean, well-written books that reflect traditional values such as; modesty, purity, honesty, and respect. Every book is read from cover to cover and chosen for its high standard of English, rich vocabulary and moral tone. We avoid books containing explicit content, vulgarity, teenage romance, or ideas that undermine the moral and spiritual upbringing we strive for.

Children need stories that build imagination, increase attention span, and enrich language. We want them to grow up in a calmer world with  books not constant digital noise. Through our recommendations, we help parents find stories that protect innocence and nurture thoughtful, expressive young minds.

Our goal is to guide, inspire and reassure parents who want something better for their children. Whether you are home-schooling, raising readers in a busy home or simply looking for stories you can trust, we hope Books Worth Sharing gives you confidence and clarity in your choices.

About us

Pink Poppy Flowers

For over 25 years I have been raising my children with books at the centre of our home. We kept a screen-free environment from the start, long before most people spoke about the effects of devices on children. I saw first-hand how much stronger a child’s mind becomes when books, conversation and real life take the place of constant digital noise.

I have always preferred older literature and classic children’s books. As my family grew, it became obvious how modern books were changing. The language deteriorated, the content became careless and many themes conflicted with modesty, innocence and traditional values. Earlier books, by contrast, offer better vocabulary, clearer writing and a respect for childhood that is often missing today.

Over the years, many parents began asking me for help because they felt overwhelmed. They wanted clean, meaningful books but did not know where to start. They were unsure what was suitable, what to avoid, and how to judge a book when standards are dropping everywhere.

Books Worth Sharing was created to answer that need.

Every book I recommend is one I have read from beginning to end. I check language, themes, tone and whether it supports healthy development and aligns with traditional values. My aim is to make it easier for parents to choose books that protect innocence, build imagination, strengthen attention and enrich speech.

One thing I have seen again and again is how reading works almost by osmosis. When children live around books, hear rich language, and spend time with well-written stories, it quietly shapes them. Their vocabulary grows, their speech becomes clearer, and their writing improves simply because they have absorbed strong language and structure over time.

Children need stories that help them think clearly, express themselves well and enjoy reading without being pushed into ideas beyond their age. Books Worth Sharing exists to support families who want to raise strong readers in a world that is moving too fast and becoming too shallow.
